An outstandingly successful 3-day technical conference of 2023 Chinese Pharmaceutical Association Medicinal Chemistry Symposium & CPA-EFMC (Chinese Pharmaceutical Association?—European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology) Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry (CMCS) was held in Chongqing, from October 7th to 10th, 2023. This conference was hosted by the Medicinal Chemistry Professional Committee of CPA, China pharmaceutical university and Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Management Committee. It was organized by the Innovation Research Institute of Chongqing China Pharmaceutical University.

The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Kong Lingyi, vice president of China Pharmaceutical University. Sun Xianze, president of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, Chen Fen'er, academician of the CAE Member, chairman of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Professional Committee of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, Hao Haiping, president of China Pharmaceutical University, and Pi Tao, member of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, addressed the opening ceremony.

The theme of 2023 CMCS is “Original new drug research and new synthesis technologies”. With a total of 11 sub forums, 313 oral reports arranged, and 155 wall posters displayed. As a top-level biennial event in medicinal chemistry in our country, CMCS attracted 2200 representatives from the academic, business, and government sectors to attend, and more than 70000 people participated in online viewing.
