Global Conference on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Education theme as‘To establish a global vision for global pharmaceutical practitioners’was successfully hosted by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and Chinese Pharmaceutical Association (CPA), on November 7-8, 2016 in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. More than 500 representatives from 47 countries and regions attended the conference.

This conference is one of the core activities of the International Pharmaceutical Federation's 5-year Pharmacy Education Action Plan. The pharmaceutical experts, scholars, practitioners and government officials exchanged opinions on the topics of Better Education through Education and Target to Meet the Demand: FIP Pharmaceutical Practitioners' Development Goals.

The conference focused on the theme of Building a Global Perspective for Global Pharmaceutical Practitioners, which aimed to bring together leaders in the field of pharmacy worldwide, to identify the current state of global pharmaceutical education, to clarify what is ideal pharmaceutical education, and to draw an Ideal Pharmacy Education Circuit Diagram and Strategies to overcome difficulties. The Statements on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Education (Nanjing Statements) and two other crucial documents for the guidance of global pharmaceutical education development were adopted, as the programmatic documents for global guidance and promotion of pharmaceutical education reform.Two pharmaceutical education forums, the 2016 Higher Pharmaceutical Education Seminar and International College Students Drug Forum were also held during the conference.
